What the Customer Is Purchasing

A purchase from Bassett Homes® is the purchase of a limited license to construct a residence from a specified home plan. The customer is not purchasing ownership of the design or the underlying intellectual property.

License Summary

The license is limited, non-exclusive, and non-transferable. It authorizes the construction of a single residence from the licensed plan at a single address, unless a broader license is separately purchased.

Permitted Construction

The licensed plan may be used to construct one residence for the licensee's use. Reasonable adaptations required for site conditions or code compliance are permitted, provided the fundamental design is not redistributed.

Additional Builds

Each additional home constructed from the same plan requires a separate license. Please contact us to arrange additional licensing before beginning any additional build.

Customer Responsibilities

The customer is responsible for engaging qualified local design, engineering, and construction professionals, and for obtaining all required permits and approvals prior to construction.

Local Code Disclaimer

Building codes vary by jurisdiction. Bassett Homes does not warrant that any plan complies with the codes, ordinances, or site conditions of a specific location. Local review and any required modifications are the responsibility of the customer.

Refund Policy

Due to the nature of licensed intellectual property, all sales are final once plan materials have been delivered. Refund and cancellation details will be confirmed in writing at the time of purchase.

Intellectual Property Restrictions

Purchased plans may not be copied, resold, or redistributed. Bassett Homes is not acting as the architect or engineer of record and retains full ownership of the underlying design. See our Intellectual Property Notice for further detail.
